The Aurora Festival of the Arts is a new non-profit organization which is creating the 2011 Aurora jazz Festival and we need volunteer helpers! We have several events coming up and offer students community service hours. Please visit www.aurorajazzfest.com website for more information about the festival.

Here is a list of up-coming events whereat we will need assistance:

1) Saturday, March 26th – Aurora Farmers Market Booth at the Aurora Cultural Centre 10am-2pm
2) Saturdays 8am-1pm Aurora Farmers Market Booth (student does not have to commit to all Saturdays – just as available)
3) Aurora Home Show – to be announced
4) Aurora Street Festival – Sunday June 5th – 10am-6pm or portion
5) Black Tie Gala – June 9th – noon-midnight hours available
6) Artcures Art Exhibition at Aurora Cultural Centre June 17th-June 26th
7) Aurora Chamber Networking Breakfast 7:30am June 16th
8) Canada Day Parade in Aurora – July 1st 9am-11am (plus help with floats day before or as required)
9) Canada Day Booths at the Richmond Hill Chamber Home Show – July 1st
10) One day music Workshop in Aurora – July 27th – 10-5pm
11) Festival – July 29, 30 and 31st – lots of volunteers needed over these three days to assist with tickets at gate, arts/crafts for kids, staging and running errands around the park during festival

We greatly appreciate the assistance of our Youth in this Festival. Your contribution of time assists not only the artists but also local charities (CCAA and Safehaven) as well as community at large.
